Department of OBG provides comprehensive knowledge and skills required to work and perform as able midwives in various health care settings. The department’s policy is directed toward the provision of quality professional services and performs the task holistically with reference to the women, neonates and their families.
The faculty of OBG Nursing department believes that, the undergraduate and postgraduate programme prepares nurses for leadership positions in nursing and health fields who can function as specialist nurse practitioners, consultants, administrators, educationists and investigators in a wide variety of professional setting in meeting the national priority and the changing needs of the society.
Develop the basic obstetrics and gynecological knowledge and skill and applies the same in the practice of maternity nursing.

Incorporate evidence based nursing practice and identifies the areas of research in the field of obstetrics and gynaecological nursing.
The departmental lab is well equipped with Birthing Simulator to demonstrate the normal & abnormal mechanism of labour.

Students are given the best clinical experience in all the areas such as antenatal, labour ward, postnatal NICU, high risk & Gynaec ward. Students are given an opportunity to practice in Taluk Hospital, Kottarakara, Life Line Hospital, Adoor.
